The winners of EMPA’s Best Article and Best Photo awards are announced

The winners of EMPA’s Best Article and Best Photo awards are announced. This year for the best Article Award applied 4 magazines with 9 articles and 7 magazines with 39 photos for the Best Photo Award.  Altogether we had 81 separate vote cast for articles and images.

EMPA’s Best Article Award received Paul O’Brien, article – “At the Gates of Hell” (An Cosantóir, Ireland). Paul O’Brien is published author of five successful history books. He has detailed experience in researching historical information in Ireland and England. He has had articles published in history periodicals.

 

2nd place went to Latvia – Līga Lakuča “A Project Latvia Could Successfully Present Globally”, but 3rd place was taken by Marte Boye Haakonsen, article “The Struggle” (Forsvarets Forum, Norway).

 

EMPA’s Best Photo Award received Gatis Indrēvics (Tēvijas Sargs, Latvia). Gatis Indrēvics has been in national Armed Forces for 12 years, he is photographing since 2005. He has publications in leading magazines and newspapers and also he has photo archive from Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

2nd place – Arne Flaaten (Forsvarets Forum, Norway), but 3rd place was taken by Günter Filzwieser (Der Soldat, Austria).
